This is the third DAP 1360 that I ordered (only the first through Amazon). For a secured network, it was either (1) impossible to configure or (2) maintain the settings for a period not longer than 60 days. Dlink s customer service was helpful but could not resolve the issue in any shape form or fashion (and I fancy myself as technically savy). One thing I did learn-- Amazon s customer service was first rate. No more Dlinks for me. But I will continue to deal with Amazon.

The D-Link DAP-1360 is, in my opinion, a worthless piece of junk.

My internet service provider recommended a D-Link Rangbooster N Dual Bank Router. I purchased one and installed it with no problem using a portable running Windows 7. Wireless reception from this wireless router was great, and the speedtest was very close to the speed I got by connecting directly to my computer s ethernet port.

Our house has a four-foot thick rock wall through most of the middle, so I purchased a D-Link N Range Extender to catch the signal at the edge of the wall and re-beam it to the other side of the house.

I made three attempts to do the installation myself based on the instructions in the box. The Windows 7 screens in the instructions did not match the actual Windows 7 screens, so it proved impossible to do the self-installation.

Next, I called the toll free installation assistance line. While the person on the line was very patient and courteous, we had to work together for over 45 minutes to get the Range Extender installed.

When I began using the part of the house with the range extended, the bandwidth was EXTREMELY slow, despite the fact that the Rangebooster increased the signal bars from 1 to 5. When I say EXTREMELY slow, I meant that a 4.8 mbps download speed was choked down to .437 mpbs.

At this point, I suppose I could have called D-Link tech support again, but by now I had invested several hours just trying to get a simple range extender up and running. My conclusion is that this a poorly designed and implemented product which is not worth purchasing. Avoid it at all costs.

I purchased this to serve as a repeater to my Linksys 610N. I am really surprised at the lack of documentation and the glitchiness of the equipment itself. The instructions for Windows 7 show Vista screenshots. Not a big deal - I know my way around network sharing on Windows 7. All the password issues mentioned in other reviews are correct... it is just plain bizarre behavior and can set you back during setup.

That aside, the documentation has huge gaps in it. So much so that I can assure you this device and accompanying manual (online version included) are not nearly enough for 98% of the population. That aside, I set it up using the directions (filling in with my own knowledge) and the thing worked off and on. Then I did a hard reset and set it up manually - got it all nice and tidy and then set it up and sure enough it performed the same way - on and off. Finally I looked at some forums and tried some alternates. No change. It all leads me to believe that this thing was not well tested in the shop, not well documented at corporate, and is pretty much useless.

If you are not VERY familiar with networking, I would stay away from this product. Even if you are, I would still pass on it - I am returning it. Hope this helps you avoid the same hassles.
