This little device is so very useful. It works on basically any drive: old, new, ancient (worked on some very early computers with not problem). It is so usefull to be able to fully modify a drive to a computer that won t boot or it would be too much trouble to do so. The greatest thing about it is that a drive shows up, so you can take an exact, bootable image of the drive. The trasnfer speeds are snappy. The device will beep if it does not have enough power. The included power adapter that works with as well any drive I hve not had any problems with. It is too bad there is no on/off switch but this is insignificant. This device has worked on Ubuntu, Windows 7 (Beta), Vista, XP, and mac. This device comes with all the hardware you would need, including a sata cable, power cable for all three drives combined into one, and a mini USB cable.
The only trouble I have ever had is that once it fit a little over where a ribbon cable would go, blocking the power plug for a non-standard IDE drive. But this was a very old, non-standard drive so I still give it a 5 with the hopefull improvent of fixing the excess length of the adapter.
