Reviews | Submited By: L. C Glover on 03/23/2010 The case is very well constructed and clearly designed for a small digital camcorder. The camcorder must be roughly the size of a 12 oz. soda can. The key features are:
* 3 small side pockets -- big enough for a few SD cards and maybe a small USB cable.
* high quality zippers -- smooth and look to be very durable
* tangerine colored interior -- good visibility to find items in
* shoulder carrying strap -- web nylon mess more than strong enough for the weight of the loaded case
* ruggedized bottom -- water resistant and solid plastic to avoid liquid from seeping into the case if you leave the case on a wet surface
* padded carrying handle on the top -- fits up to a big male hand
Overall, good quality but made for a very specific set of digital camcorders. The name is misleading in that only smaller digital camears (not SLR) will fit in the case. A flip camera and a small digital camera would fit nice along with the support cables, batteries, etc.

| | Submited By: Abhinav Agarwal on 03/23/2010 This is a surprisingly small bag, with a tough thick exterior and a semi-hard base, and with a velcro fastened horizontal compartment inside. It is too small for older camcorders, but some of the newer ones should fit without problems. I may even use it to carry a point-and-shoot digital camera, and use the bottom compartment to hold the spare batteries, CF/SD cards, and the charger. The zip pockets in front are also handy to carry small items.
And yes - this is smaller than I was expecting. Both a good and a not-so-good thing. It is def smaller than the product s image on the Amazon product page suggests. But I nitpick.

For a fraction of the cost of cases offered by your camcorder manufacturer, you get a well-built, lightweight, very versatile case. However, I wouldn t call this a camera case. It s too small to hold even a small DSLR, and it s way to big for most compact cameras. That being said, I own two different compact camcorders, and the case fit both well, although it really is designed for a horizontally-oriented camcorder.
First - the highlights! This case is built like a tank, with reinforced zippers, heavy duty but lightweight reinforced nylon equivalent to a good-quality suitcase. And, the bottom of the case is molded plastic, providing a waterproof base that won t tip over when you set it down. Case Logic also includes a shoulder strap in addition to the carrying handle.
My Sony HDR-HC7 is a horizontally-oriented, tape-based HDV camcorder. The Caselogic SLDC-203 stored this camcorder, memory cards, spare tape, remote control, two different video cables, battery charger, spare battery, glare cover, and a compact wide-angle lens. The main pouch has two compartments, separated by a bright orange neoprene panel that lets you easy see all items. I fit the charger, spare battery, extra lens, remote, and cables in this area, with the camcorder fitting perfectly above. The front pocket fit an extra HDV tape, although just barely. The 2 side pockets are very small - not large enough to fit a tape, but good for memory cards. (See uploaded pictures).
On the other hand, my Sony DCR-PC100 is an older vertically-oriented, tape-based DVD camcorder. Although the relative sizes of both camcorders are close, the Caselogic SLDC-203 and especially its internal bottom panel is definitely better suited to the horizontal camcorder. For this vertical camcorder, I left the bright orange panel open, surrounding the remote control and video cable. The case then could accommodate the full vertical height of the camcorder, with room for the small audio boom microphone. The spare battery and an extra tape fit in the front pocket, but just barely.
