So far, it works as advertised and I m even surprised at the reasonable printing of photos. If I need good photos printed I typically send them to Walgren s online. I ve grown tired of ink jets and how they break, get dried up, stop working well. I m looking forward to the ease of use, long life and lower operating costs of a laser. I don t really use the scanner function, but everything works ad good or better than I was hoping for.
The only thing that was a little tricky was getting the first machine up and running on the network. I found that I had to use USB first to do setup, naming, blah, blah, blah and then find it via the network. After that, it worked easily on each machine. I m using it for Macs mostly, virtual PCs inside of Macs, some PC laptops and I think my daughter s linux netbook. All of these wirelessly or over a wired network.
Does anyone know what the single host USB port on the front is intended for? I m currently using it to charge Ipods.
