Submited By: Dan M. Beadle on 07/22/2010 I needed to extend the cable between my PC and an LCD projector to 25 for use in a conference room. I initially used DVI. The results from a new 1080P projector were dismal - the image occasionally smeared with pixels occasionally shifting right resulting in jagged vertical lines: digital noise.
I switched to HDMI hoping that a different interface might have less noise. No joy.
Being an engineer, I knew what I needed: a circuit to clean up and re-digitize the signal before feeding it into the LCD
Then I found this product. It did exactly what I wanted. It uses power from the HDMI link to receive weak signals, clean them up and resychronize them before forwarding them to the projector.
The results were fantastic. Installation took about 10 seconds to unplug the HDMI cable at the projector and insert this cable. The picture immediately cleaned up.
I was amazed at the low price. I had expected to pay several hundred dollars to solve what I thought might be a rare problem.
While I used this on a PC to 1080P projector, it is probably more likely to be used with Cable or Sat TV box to LCD Projector or TV. It should perform just as well in those applications.
If you are using a long HDMI cable and have jagged vertical lines, this is the product for you.
