This was a gift for my 10 year old for Christmas, it was the one thing he wanted more than anything else. That being said, it was frustrating at first because it took a lot of work to get the game loaded on our PC. (since our computer is not a gaming computer that was said to be why by our oldest son) Once it was finally loaded the 10 year old played and played and continues to play as often as he is allowed. There weren t as many planes as I thought there would be but it doesn t bother my son. He likes the free play and put in airports that he, myself or my husband has been to. I like the graphics control where you can choose how much detail you want. Its fun to watch him fly and see buildings that you can recognize from places you have been. If you don t have a high ram computer, or one with a great graphics card be fair warned you will have a hard time using this game. The more graphics there are the slower the game seems to go.

Ok, so imagine my friends faces when this shoot em up guy decided to buy FSX, after all I am a Crysis, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Left 4 Dead and all those gore producing games. I wasn t even sure I was going to like it and that s why I bought the standard edition and not the Deluxe or Gold editions, which I now regret. Well, let me tell you something, even if you are not an aviation expert but love the sounds, looks and feel of flying then you are going to be AMAZED at FSX!!!! The sights and sounds are incredible accurate and there is something so rewarding of making up your own flight plans, finding your destination and then landing your plane.
When I looked at the reviews of this game I found a LOT of negative reviews. Then I saw that most of them were circa 2006. I can t believe MS would release a so graphic intensive upgrade back then. People were right on being so angry! Well, even in 2010 with a 5770 Radeon card (about 2 notches behind the top of the line video card) this game feels a little heavy. However with my setup (Intel i5, Radeon 5770 and 4 gigs of RAM) it runs very well.
I am not giving it 5 stars because this game could be even better and also because I found some odd things like cars running around in the woods (sometimes no highway shows up) and also when I crash it doesn t really crash it just bumps and goes through structures. Also I would wish that the landing gear made more noise when retracting.
But those are little things. Happy flying!

Super fun. I got it and i just cranked the graphics, and it was great. I have a AMD processor 2.30 GHz, and Geforce graphics. I tryed it on my parents PC, and they have a Intel Centrino, processor, and the graphics are bad, and it runs really jerky. But im a teenager and i dream of bieng a commercial airline pilot so thats why i baught it. If you do have an Intel Processor, than do not buy this game. but if you have ATI radeon graphics, or Geforce Graphics, than this game will run Amazingly on your PC.
