Bought a D1500 in September of 09. We had had good luck with some earlier B&D models years ago. Had a couple of Rowentas in the interim and when the last one quit, we decided to try B&D again.
After several months of satisfactory performance, the D1500 began to have issues with the display - first it only cycled through the languages - cured this by unplugging it and starting over. Then, after several more weeks, it expanded its act - it would heat up to temperature and work well for a while - eventually beginning to cycle through the temperatures, the display flashing and stepping down. Reset temperature and it would work for a short while and then go off again. Got another of the same model under warranty and it was not good from the beginning. It warms up, works for a while and then the temperature starts flashing and it shuts off. We are going to look at a different manufacturer for the next iron.

Bought it end of January, 2010. It died abruptly end of April, 2010. And in its short 3 month life, it didn t press very well.
