Submited By: M. Fulkerson on 07/16/2010 I m using this cable to plug in a 19" Samsung LCD TV and use as my monitor. It works great, and the picture is as clear as a bell. The cable jacks are sturdy and well-made, I see no reason why they shouldn t last for years. For only three dollars, this cable is about as good as you can get!
Keep in mind that if you plan on using this cable to hook a computer to an LCD television, you re more than likely going to need to lower the resolution in your computer first. When you hook a monitor up to your computer, your computer automatically detects the highest resolution possible and adjusts itself as you plug it in. With an LCD television, it can only initially understand a resolution that is no higher than it can possibly go. Most LCD s can t go over 720i or 720p, so before you plug it into your computer make sure you go into your "preferences" and adjust the resolution to as low as it can go, and make sure you set the "colors" option to "thousands" instead of "millions". Your resolution will look awful once you do this, but don t fret. Plug your monitor in, and when you see the image from your computer click on "auto display" or "display detector" or whatever you have that will automatically detect the highest resolution available with your computer. It will immediately update you screen image, giving you the best possible resolution available with your LCD TV.
I hope this helps anyone who may run into this problem as it seems that several of the bad reviews of this product hinge upon this sort of thing happening. It s an easy fix, just be patient. It will only take five minutes!
